Chris Sherman is the former Executive Vice President and Managing Director of IW. Today he continues to support IW as a Senior Advisor and subject expert for the firm’s on-going engagements. He supported IW managing on-the-ground programs in India and in the Americas during his decade of active management with the firm.
Mr. Sherman has over three decades of senior management experience in the energy, financial institution and security industries. Before beginning his corporate career, Mr. Sherman spent 7 years consulting with McKinsey and Co., where he assisted clients in developing corporate or business unit strategies as well as with marketing studies, merger and acquisition activity, operational implementation, and organizational
redesign. Mr. Sherman's practice focused on the financial services and consumer products areas.
He then joined Pacific Enterprises (now Sempra Energy), the parent of the largest natural gas distribution company in the United States. During his 13 years with the company, Mr. Sherman held positions that included President of Pacific Energy, an alternative energy company, President of Pacific Enterprises Leasing Company and Co-Founder and President of Pacific Enterprises International, an international energy development company. While President of Pacific Energy, Mr. Sherman had responsibility for developing, building and running 4 separate alternative energy technology groups that generated power for sale to various power grids, plus the district heating and cooling company serving industrial and commercial customers. Mr. Sherman also co-founded Pacific Enterprises International, to invest in natural gas distribution, transmission and storage and related power projects, and led the unregulated businesses at Pacific Enterprises, including new energy products, interstate pipeline transmission, power generation, gas processing and centralized heating and cooling.
After the merger that created Sempra Energy, Mr. Sherman joined Inter-Con Security Systems, one of the
largest private security companies in the world, and during his 8 years with the Company served as Chief
Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer. Subsequently, Mr. Sherman led
IndyMac Bank's Global Resources Group which conducted the Bank's sizeable offshoring programs, nontraditional workforce and talent acquisition functions for this 10,000 person financial institution.
Mr. Sherman has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS with Honors in Economics from Purdue University.
