We periodically share articles with you “real time”, when we think they are timely and important. Engineering News Record (ENR) published a brief article on September 2, linking to the latest American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) “Failure to Act” report (also released September 2), focused on the US power grid. That report notes in detail the underinvestment in the electrical grid – across all segments but most particularly in generation. As discussed in our BLACKOUT blog, the increasing shift to renewables is playing a major role in all this, and the ASCE study points out this is not just an issue in California. We’ll discuss this more in the future but thought you might find these links interesting.
